Prof Max Bachmann is professor of health services research at the University of East Anglia, UK, and an honorary research fellow at the Knowledge Translation Unit. He previously worked at the Universities of Cape Town, Bristol and Free State. His research interests include: health care evaluation of effectiveness, efficiency and equity using epidemiologic, economic, statistical and quantitative modelling methods; randomised trials, quasi-experiments and causal inference about effectiveness of care from cohort data; evaluation of diagnostic information and screening; and evaluation of health care for HIV/AIDS, respiratory diseases, cancer, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.
